GURUVAE SARANAM Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu Guru Dhevo Maheshvaraha Guru Saakshat Para Brahma Thasmai Sri Guruvae Namaha A thousand greetings to each of your beautiful souls... you are the children of Heaven on Earth! A thousand pranams to all the Gurus and Masters during this Guru Poornima. Where is our Guru? The Divine has given us many places to find the Guru and make contact. Our Soul is the first Guru. Its light shines like a lighthouse beaming through our hearts, eyes, and minds, guiding us away from icebergs, and steering us to safe waters and the Mother's harbors. At times we forget to listen and that's when it fails us. To hear our soul we must go deep and listen. The Guru is our Heart also, telling us what is right and what is wrong. If we listen, we can even feel it beating at a different rate, telling us what is going on. Find your heart, and this Guru will be ever present with you. At our third eye chakra is the Guru who is knowledge. Like radar, scanning and sending messages to our brains and heart chakra, this Guru alerts us about what is going on and what will happen around us. The third eye Guru really begins to fully function after a physical Guru initiates and begins us working on it. It takes some time in silence and the physical Guru's efforts as well to develop this, but once this is achieved, Great masters and Saints will identify you without you saying anything. So where does the physical Guru come from? The Soul will lead you to the physical Guru in the outer world. Your Soul will get you to the Guru. You will find your feet taking you there, and you will surely feel the teacher's presence. The true Guru will accept the disciple as he is, seeing beyond caste, race, language, or religion. The Guru will help to clear our emotions, dispel anger, and relieve our baggage carried from past lives. The Guru is like a jeweler shaping a raw diamond. Each stone requires something different to refine it. The methods may sometimes seem extreme or harsh, as diamonds are not usually soft stones to polish. Through such a process we may feel at times that the Guru does not understand us, or perhaps has hurt us, but a Guru is clearly guided, and holds a student like their own child no matter what. When a discipleship with a Guru takes place it is a Divine Sankalpa--the plan of the Divine. And though the Guru is very often misunderstood, it is with the Guru's blessings that it becomes so much easier for each of us to reach the Divine. And that's why Mother sends the physical Guru. So that the roughness of our stone can be cleaned and shaped, until it one day becomes a complete reflection of the beautiful light within it. So the arrival of the Guru is not an end but a start. And as we honor the Divine that has brought forth an express route home to the Mother in the form of the Guru, let us chase away the doubts and the blame we place on the teacher, for these are not born in our hearts. When there is a question from within, the answer can come also from within. Find your heart--the Guru from within will definitely answer from within… when we are sincere and patient. May the blessings of ALL the Gurus be with you, and all our blessings be with you as well! Om Swaropa niropana Haethevae Sri Parama Guruvae Saranam. Sri Matrae Namaha. We love each of you, Swami and Amma *PLEASE NOTE* This Sunday’s Guru Poornima is a very auspicious day, as it falls on a full moon day during the hottest month of the year. Both the sun and the moon are at the peak of their power on this day. This alignment permits important subtle nerve channels in the subtle body to become highly energized. On Guru Poornima, spiritual seekers are extremely open to receiving Divine energy, and for this reason, Saints often choose this day to shower people with their most Divine blessings. Amma and Swamiji will be showering all you with the blessings of many Gurus this weekend with a Full Moon Grand Guru Poornima Flower Ceremony this Sunday July 29th. |
