All of us have felt great joy and sweet bliss at some point in our lives. During those moments, we enjoyed a knowing that the Universe is looking out for us, even feeling that we are one with it. This experience was a knowing our true selves. It was a state of embracing our true essence. It was a realizing of our true consciousness. So why don't we always remain in such a state? Self-doubts, beliefs, fears, feeling that the Divine is separate from the Self are the primary reasons. Yet the Divine Mother wants all Her children to experience this knowing permanently! She has breathed life into us for this very purpose, the opportunity to become this experience in this lifetime, here and now. And she has given us the tools to do it. Our breath is actually our soul animating the body. When we breathe consciously, we cleanse and spiritualize our form. As we breathe in, we can take in love. As we breathe out, we can release our doubts and fears to the Mother. This is a conscious breath. It is a tool we walk with in every moment. When we practice this, our lives will change. Perhaps the most important tool of all is our heart, the deep inner voice that is the expression of our soul. It is always there, and it is never wrong. There is an allegorical story... the Divine Mother appeared as a fairy to a prince and gave him a ring to wear. Whenever the prince did not do something in accordance with his dharma, the ring poked him on his finger as a warning to him to correct. The prince kept ignoring the poking of the ring and kept doing things that were not in alignment. Calluses developed on his finger, and eventually he threw the ring away. He could not fulfill his dharma in that lifetime. The Divine Mother has given each one of us such a ring in the form of the deep inner voice. Many ignore it, cover it up, or try to throw it away. Yet despite that, it is always there. It's always speaking to us. How can we connect to this inner voice, and how can we let it guide us? A few minutes every day, in silence, with an open heart, asking the Divine Mother to sit inside us, is how we become listeners of the heart. In this moment, She is fully present in our hearts. When we tell Mother whatever we are going through and seek Her guidance, She listens intently and tells us exactly what to do. Though initially we may hear mostly doubts and thoughts that cover it, when we consistently continue the process, daily and with devotion and belief, the voice becomes louder and clearer. It requires courage and strength to align with that inner voice. Sometimes the voice may guide us through small incremental changes, sometimes it may ask to make radical changes. Following the inner voice may cause discomfort at times. But it is all a process of healing, it is a process of realizing the purpose of our lives. It is a process to align our will with the Divine will. We heartfully pray that each of you live your life to the fullest and experience the divine in every aspect of your life. We love you all very much. Amma and Swami |
