We are sending you our love in the fullness of the season. At a recent satsang, a devotee asked why does life prove so challenging, even when we are in love with God? Many of us ask this. Even we have also asked such a question of ourselves.
And while it is true that if we only ate sweets we'd lose our interest in them quickly, there is also a sweetness in the difficulties too. In fact, the ancient ones, the great sages and the rishis who gave us this understanding of worship and Yoga, these great ancestors of ours actually asked for challenges. They asked for life to be challenging, because with challenges we need the Mother near us. When difficulties come we need Her attention on us. And where more of the Mother's love is required, more of it comes to us.
Without difficulties, our heart often forgets its need for the Mother. Then we lose site of Her, and quickly become devoted instead to the illusion. Whenever you go through difficulties, you are wide-awake; you are calling to the Mother; and you are receiving Her great love for you. And here is a sweetness that is much deeper than in the easy times. Many, many Blessings, Amma and Swamiji |
