Liberation

LiberationMoksha, or Liberation, is the ultimate goal of every individual. Moksha is the experiencing and realizing that the individual self is the same as the Universal Supreme Self.

Every individual soul has their own unique path of evolution.  This is a path that one chooses to gain the necessary experiences and to repay the karmic debts. This is an infinetely long process spanning countless births. Each birth ends with the death of the body, but with the soul having accumulated karmas -- unrealized consequences. The soul takes birth in another womb as a different personality and starts with the karmic balance that was accumulated. And instead of bringing the karmic balance to zero, more actions are performed, increasing the karmic balance. Karmas can either be good or bad, bringing about good or bad results. Moksha is being liberated from all bondages. Moksha is about ending this seemingly endless cycle of birth and death. It is about preventing a soul from taking birth on this earth again in a womb. Karmas are binding to the cycle of birth and death. So, if one is bound, how can they be free? One can be bound either by a golden chain (good karmas) or a rusting iron chain (bad karmas). Either way one is bound.

It is however possible to attain Moksha in one's lifetime by accelerating the process of evolution of the soul. The seers in the Indian tradition have shown the path for people to follow so that they can evolve themselves into saints in this lifetime. They have articulated frameworks which give broad guidelines to people on walking the path to Moksha. These frameworks not only contain the teachings and insights that are necessary, but also lay down codes of conduct, practices and methodologies to awaken the Divine within. The following pages contain brief explanations of some of the frameworks.

To walk towards Moksha, one needs help and guidance from a Guru. Guru is the one who shows the path to the spiritual seeker.
