48 Days global meditation for Nepal, Japan and Mother Earth

Wednesday, 13 May 2015 in Newsletters

Dear Divine brothers and sisters,

The recent earthquake in Nepal caused untold misery, death and destruction to all people of Nepal. Even as the wounds of the first earthquake are fresh, today there has been a massive aftershock quake which killed more people and caused even more destruction. The humanitarian crisis that has unfolded there is unprecedented. Whole families wiped out, people lost their loved ones, destroyed homes, the situation there is truly heart rending. The pain of the people in Nepal cannot even be described, only they are experiencing it. Not only that Japan as well had an 6.8 earthquake as well. Just today.

Navaratri and Firewalking Blessings

Friday, 26 September 2014 in General

Pratyangira-MaDear beloved Divine beings,

This time of the year is a very festive and auspicious time in the Indian tradition. It is the season of Navaratri, Vijaya Dashami, and Theemithi. It is the confluence of the Shiva-Shakti energies which makes this season very powerful, energetically. It is a beautiful, auspicious time for all of us to leave behind an older, unserving part of ourselves and step into who the Divine wants us to be.

Shivarathri -- an awakening night

Wednesday, 12 February 2014 in Newsletters

shivaDear Divine Souls,

February 27th is Maha Shivarathri. There are many legends surrounding Maha Shivarathiri. But one explains why some worship Shiva throughout the night on Shivarathri.

Folklore says that there was once a tribal man who was great devotee of Shiva.  One day he went deep into the forest to collect firewood. However, he lost his way and could not return home before nightfall. As darkness fell, he heard the threatening growls of wild animals. Terrified, he climbed into the nearest tree for shelter until daybreak. He was afraid he would doze off and fall out of the tree. To stay awake, he decided to pluck one leaf at a time from the tree and drop it, while chanting the name of Shiva. He continued this throughout the night. At dawn, he realized that he had dropped over a thousand leaves onto a Lingam.  During the night he did not see the Lingam at the base of the tree, nor did he know that it was a wood apple or vilva tree. This unwitting all-night worship pleased Lord Shiva so much that Shiva rewarded the man with divine bliss.

Sri Maha Pratyangira Devi Homam starts off Swamiji & Amma's USA Yatra

Tuesday, 17 September 2013 in USA Yatra 2013

homa-114-Sep-2013: The day began early with preparations for what was to be a continuous all-day and evening gala of festivities with the highest honours and exclusive center stage awarded to our most beloved form of Divine Mother, Sri Maha Pratyangira Devi.  While this Divine Mother’s vibratory nature has found it’s most unique expression in Amma & Swamiji--two masters who have, over many years of spiritual sadhana, shown signs of visibly embodying the subtly perceptible energies of the great-void-bliss mother Pratyangira.  She is the formless unlimited potential at the center of the fiery void, who may freely emanate or come into existence or form, doing so at Her own will, and if Her divine energies choose to dance and play with us in Her lila or play, it is the greatest of blessings.  And this was our task for the day, to invoke the Divine Mother to play with us--with these two great masters at the helm of the ship, guiding all devotees, divine souls, earnest voyagers and witnesses; those who had joined together in the intimate space of a sacred temple--where a murti or idol of Her has been consecrated, at the Sri Maha Kaleshwar Mandir in Santa Clara, CA.

Mother's Day Blessings: A personal message from Swamiji and Amma

Sunday, 12 May 2013 in Newsletters

Greetings to all beautiful Souls, Brothers and Sisters,

Mothers-DayThey say that God couldn't be everywhere, so He created Mothers. What a beautiful heartfelt statement, recognizing and acknowledging the loving presence of the Mother. This Sunday, 12th May, is Mother's Day. Take the time to think of your own wonderful Mother and heartfully thank her. As we celebrate and honor our Mother's, let us reflect on who the Mother is.

An ancient Eastern saying goes like, "A child might turn its back on its Mother, but never ever the Mother on her children...". Such is the self-erasing compassion of the Mother for her children. Without any reserve or consideration, She gives unhesitatingly both to the worthy and the unworthy, till her heart bleeds in love, and yet the child still wants more. She protects us and gives us what we want until we are on our own. Her selfless seva to her child is beyond words.

Usher in the new year in Divine Grace

Monday, 31 December 2012 in Newsletters

Greetings to all beautiful soul brothers and sisters,

The year 2012 has come and passed.  Regardless of our individual circumstances, whether we experienced ups or downs, received good or bad, whatever it was - we have to learn from it.

When we believe in Reality it will become real.  Be in the now. Be in the present. For, your present will eventually unfold into your future.  Live every second moment by moment. We are already into the Satya Yuga.  This is the new age of Truth and enlightenment.  Because Truth is oneness, oneness with everyone will become our reality. From now on there will be no need to hide your true Self from anyone or anything. You should embrace presence-ness (and Your Presence) and give yourself a tap on the back, for you have made it this far.

Om Shiva Shambo!

Namaskar to all Divine souls,

shiva-divineOnce again that auspicious day is coming. February 20th is a special Maha Shivaratri.  It is a day to offer Lord Shiva all that is sacred.  One may chant, sing His praises, bathe a Lingam or idol, adorn Him with flowers and offer all kind of sweets and vegetable dishes.

During this time Lord Shiva is at the pinnacle of his presence in the material Earth plane.  We should all put all our thoughts and focus in prayers for the peace in the World, peace within and without.  Maha Sivarathiri, is the great night of Shiva, when His devotees are reminded of the time when He walked on earth and in heaven.  It is a time to merge oneself in the infinite light.

Holiday Greetings

Saturday, 24 December 2011 in Newsletters

Namaste and Greetings to all the angels,

babaji-lightThis year, 2011, is coming to an end, bringing in the joy of Christmas and New Year. Christmas is all about a deeper sharing of what you have with your family and those around you. Whatever has happened throughout the year, when it comes to year-end, we should forget everything and enjoy the festival season. You do not have to be rich to celebrate festivals. If you can have a big smile and a big heart- no matter what, you are the richest person.

If we take a moment to reflect on our inner selves, we realize that we have accumulated layers and layers of old and unnecessary things around our souls, things that cloud our judgement, things that do not serve us. As we are transitioning into the new year, now is the right time to start unpacking and incinerating your old stuff. And to open your heart to make it the home of the Divine, and to receive what the Divine gives us.

Stop worrying of what is going to happen in the coming year. Be in the moment and just make resolutions that you know you need to. And, dutifully stick to the resolutions by doing what you are supposed to do. It is like sadhana, practices or yoga, in fact, it is a form of sadhana.

Thanksgiving, Sri Chakra Navavarana Puja

Thursday, 17 November 2011 in Newsletters

Namaste to the Ekatvam Family,

Thanksgiving1Thanksgiving is all about families coming together, being together and being there for one another. It is a time of reunion, of joy. As you create stronger bonds with your family, you are creating stronger bonds with your inner Self and with the Divine. During this Thanksgiving, as you are offering your prayers, please feel grateful to the Divine, to the Universe, for making you who you are. Remember with gratitude everything the Universe has given you even if you are going through difficult times at the moment. More importantly, remember your inner Self, that inner Divine that is always with you.

Just as each of us have our personal families, let us not forget that all of us are members of the Divine Mother's family. We are all Her children, She is always there, every where, within us and outside us. Ekatvam, which means Unity or Oneness, is a growing family of spiritual seekers who want to raise their consciousness and help others to be in Union with the Divine. It gives great joy to us, Swami and Amma, to see your souls blossoming and becoming one with the Divine Mother through your sadhana. We are always there for you to provide guidance.

Navaratri 2011

Saturday, 24 September 2011 in Newsletters

Navaratri, is a festival of worship of the Divine Mother. The word Navaratri literally means nine nights. The festival is celebrated for nine nights every year during September or October based on Hindu calendar. This year it is starting on 28th September.

Laxmi-Durga-SaraswatiNavaratri is divided into three-day sets, each devoted to a different aspect of the supreme Divine Mother goddess. The first three days are dedicated to Durga Maa; the Goddess of power and energy. The goddess is invoked as a powerful spiritual force called Durga in order to destroy all our impurities, vices and defects.

The fourth, fifth and sixth days are focused on worship of Lakshmi Maa; the Goddess of peace and prosperity. The Divine Mother is the ultimate giver of spiritual wealth, and Lakshmi, is the aspect that is considered to have the power to bestow to her devotees inexhaustible wealth.

On the seventh, eighth and ninth day Saraswati Maa is worshiped; the Goddess of spiritual knowledge.

Additionally, on the Ninth day of Navaratri, a Kanya puja is performed. This is done in reverence of the nine young girls representing the nine forms of Goddess Durga.

Mahavatar Babaji Consecration

Thursday, 01 September 2011 in Newsletters

BabajiSri Mahavatar Babaji has been guiding Swamiji and Amma in various forms from their late teenage years. When Babaji's statue arrived into the Singapore home ashram by his grace, there was love and joy. The consecration ceremonies were held from 26 Aug to 28 Aug 2011. The following is a writeup of the ceremonies. A writeup, especially of such kinds of high energy ceremonies, cannot do justice in describing all facets of the ceremony, but nonetheless is an attempt. Video of parts of the ceremony are included below as well.

Friday morning was the 'abhishekam' ceremony of Babaji. Abhishekam is a sacred ritual where the deities are bathed and honored with various liquids like water, milk, honey, yogurt, rosewater, sandalwood paste, vibhuthi paste etc. Babaji statue was placed on a copper plate on a table. Sacred hymns and chantings filled the air. Swamiji carefully bathed Babaji with various liquids one after another while chanting mantras. All the other deities were similarly bathed. Amma then carefully applied vibhuthi and kumkum to the Babaji statue, and adorned it, making it look very lively.

Oct 7 : In and around Haridwar

Thursday, 08 October 2009 in India Yatra 2009

shivaThis morning we had a small satsang in Swamiji and Amma's room. Amma shared beautifully why the seven of us are here together on this yatra. She explained that we were all chosen to be doing this yatra together. But the choice, the choosing, did not come from above. It is the individual being, the individual soul that chooses to ascend to higher levels of consciousness. Swamiji and Amma explained how Mahavatar Babaji has been vividly coming into their realms of consciousness at various levels, in the form of dreams, in physical forms of different types, in astral visits, and guiding them to come on this yatra. They are being shown places to visit during this yatra, places that are not normally on the tourist circuit, places that are a bit deeper. Amma shared a beautiful story of how they had a ten-year-old child stay with them for a month, five years back. Recently when they were praying to Mahavatar Babaji, he said to them that he was with them physically several years back. Something connected within Swamiji and Amma, they readily found the picture of this boy, who had an uncanny resemblance to a picture of Babaji, drawn by someone who had an astral visit from Babaji. What a blessing it was for all of us to hear these deep experiences.

Oct 6 : Travel to Haridwar

Thursday, 08 October 2009 in India Yatra 2009

Swamiji, Amma and Raghudasa arrived in Delhi at 5:30 AM this morning, with Amalananda and Varsha waiting to receive them. It was so beautiful to see them all coming from the airport. Swamiji and Amma had a beatific smile, they had been in anticipation of this yatra for several months now, in truth, several years. Raghudasa was limping a little bit from the pain of the blisters, but was in good spirits. The weather had just started to turn cold, and it had been raining today and yesterday. We all sat down for a cup of hot coffee. It was a very happy reunion. Later, we all went to Amalananda's friend's home, where Swamiji and Amma were received warmly.

Oct 5 : The Firewalk

Thursday, 08 October 2009 in India Yatra 2009

The day started with Swamiji and Raghudasa going to the Mariamman temple in Singapore at midnight, to do the firewalking. This firewalking ceremony is held every year as a symbolic purification offering to the Divine Mother Mariamman. 17,000 logs were burnt for two days to prepare a hot bed of burning embers, 20 feet long. The atmosphere in the temple was electric. About 5000 people, all Singaporeans of Indian origin were ready to walk over the fire, with several more people gathered to assist and cheer them.
