Swami and Amma speak at the U.N.

Amma-Swami-UN-united-nationsSwamiji and Amma have been honored to speak at the United Nations' Society for Enlightenment And Transformation (S.E.A.T) following in the steps of a long list of world renowned speakers, including the late Sri Chimnoy, Bishop Desmond Tutu, Lee Carroll, as well as world engineers, scientists and doctors, among many others. The halls of the U.N. have been visited by great world leaders, including Eleanor Roosevelt, Martin Luther King, John F. Kennedy, Nelson Mandela, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Hopi elders, the singer Bono, among many outstanding international statesmen and women.

Swamiji and Amma's talk was titled "The Spiritual Opportunity of This Age". The program spoke to this era of connectivity that is rapidly increasing an awareness of our common United Nationsconsciousness. In this age, every individual and every faith has an opportunity to realize its unity with the Divine consciousness. The institution of the U.N. is a dynamic place to share Swamiji and Amma's life’s work of lifting the consciousness of all people and awakening the Divine within each of us.

The United Nations has been defined by a culture where "we, the peoples of the world, can address together our common global concerns in a holistic, positive and transforming way and 'live together in peace with one another' -– thus realizing the core objectives and universal principles stated in the United Nations Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights."

The Society for Enlightenment And Transformation is a group sanctioned by the U.N. for members, guests, employees and delegates of the United Nations. S.E.A.T. invites monthly speakers to address members and other interested United Nations' staff on a variety of spiritual topics.
